Graduation Day
Hindustan First Grade College organized its First Graduation day at Hotel Radisson Blu Plaza, Mysuru on 28 January 2021, Thursday, at 4 p.m.
The graduates with their parents attended the ceremony to celebrate their success. Prof. Rangappa K S, General President, ISCA, Former Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore & Karnataka State Open University, Mysuru was invited as the Chief Guest for the occasion. Mr. Suryanarayana M S, Associate Vice President & Development, Centre Head, Infosys, Chennai graced the occasion as the Guest of Honour. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Managing Trustee, Hindustan First Grade College presided the programme. Mr. Ashok Verghese, Director, Hindustan University, Prof. S N Hegde, Former Vice Chancellor of University of Mysore, Dr. Suresha, Governing Council Member and Dr. C. J. Priya, Principal, Hindustan First Grade College were the other dignitaries present on the dias.
The dignitaries entered the Auditorium in procession and took their seats on the dais. The Managing Trustee, Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese declared the graduation ceremony open. The Principal Dr. C J Priya delivered the welcome address and presented a report of the college activities.
Special Officer Mr. Abel Mathew Prasad introduced the Guest of Honour Mr. Suryanarayana M S who has been associated with Infosys for 21 years, managing IT projects delivery across global clients. The Guest of Honour, in his address advised the students about the importance of perceiving the dreams. He quoted examples of great people like Steve Jobs and advised the graduates to chase their dreams and be a pioneer in creating revolution. He also spoke of the constant support of the parents and teachers in the success of the graduates and also highlighted the importance of dreaming and achieving the goals.
Mr. Ashok Verghese, Director, Hindustan University introduced the Chief Guest who has made novel and significant contributions to Chemical Biology-Drug discovery programme, Bio-organic and Medicinal Chemistry. The Chief Guest, Prof. K S Rangappa, in his graduation day address, highlighted the new National Education Policy which will help the children to learn skills from school level. He also expressed that the New Education Policy is very effective for the 21st Century as it boost the confidence to face the challenges and opined that the new policy will provide the job security. Also, he advised the graduates to indulge in everyday learning process as Graduation is not mere end of learning and not to overlook any opportunities of learning.
Following the graduation day address, the certificate distribution ceremony commenced. The Principal Dr. C. J. Priya read out the names of the gold medallist and the certificates were handed over by our chief guest Prof. K S Rangappa. Dr. K C G Verghese Gold Medal was awarded to the following candidates.

- Sanjay Kumar H R ( BBA 2020 Batch – 1 Gold Medal)
- Harshitha ( BCA 2020 Batch – 1 Gold Medal)
The HOD’s of Commerce, Management and Computer Science presented the graduates for conferment of the degree. 62 eligible candidates, those who have cleared the examinations, conducted by the University of Mysore, received the Graduation Certificate from the dignitaries.
The Principal, HFGC administered the Pledge. The candidates took an oath that they shall discharge their duties in their profession and shall uphold the dignity and integrity of their profession and the honour of the University. As the Proceedings concluded, the Managing Trustee Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese dissolved the Graduation Ceremony and the procession returned followed by the graduates.
