
A WEEK-LONG WORKSHOP ON “ADVANCING AVIATION EXCELLENCE”
The Department of Aviation Management organized a one-week workshop titled “Advancing Aviation Excellence” from 7th to 11th July 2025. The workshop featured expert sessions, interactive activities, and hands-on exposure, enabling students to gain practical knowledge, professional insights, and soft skills essential for an aviation career.
Day 01 – 7th July 2025
The workshop commenced with a session by Dr. Pathmanathan, Director of Aviation, HGI, Chennai. He delivered a lecture tracing the evolution of aviation – from its early milestones to the exponential growth of civil aviation both in India and globally. He highlighted the diverse career paths that the modern aviation industry offers to aspiring professionals.
DAY 02 – 8th July 2025
Capt. Anjith from Orient Flights Aviation Academy, Mysore, conducted an engaging and interactive session on Crew Resource Management. He stressed the importance of effective communication and collaboration between cockpit and cabin crew in maintaining flight safety. Through real–world case studies and discussions, he illustrated the role of human factors and team dynamics in minimizing errors and enhancing operational efficiency.
Day 03 – 9th July 2025
Ms. Sneha Pilla, Aviation Trainer, led the session, guiding students through industry grooming standards, personal presentation, and professional etiquette. This session empowered students to build their brand and elevate their professional career.
Day 4 – 10th July 2025
Mr. Victor, Center Head, Orient Flights Aviation Academy, Mysore, delivered an informative session onthe Airline Ticketing process. He explained the critical role of travel agencies and introduced students to the Global Distribution System (GDS), with a special focus on the Amadeus platform. His session offered students insights into backend operations and customer service processes.
Day 5 – 11th July 2025
The concluding day featured two enriching technical sessions delivered by the Captains from OFAA. The morning session was led by Capt. Jarome, Orient Flights Aviation Academy, Mysore, who focused on operational protocols, cockpit discipline, situational awareness, and challenges faced in domestic and international flight operations. The session provided students with a glimpse into the responsibilities and expectations of professional pilots.
The “Advancing Aviation Excellence” workshop proved to be a learning experience for students. By bringing together academic principles and industry practices, the workshop succeeded in equipping participants with an understanding of aviation dynamics and inspired them to pursue their careers in the field with enhanced confidence and clarity.
