Details :Christmas was celebrated at Hindustan First Grade College campus on 22nd Dec, 2017. All the teaching and non teaching staff took active part in the celebration. Carol singing by students and staff. The santa was the centre of attraction in the celebration. The celebration was followed by providing refreshments for staff and students.

Details: Yuva Sambrama dance competition was held on 18 th September 2017 at Open Air TheatreManasa Gangotri, University of Mysore. The students were trained by Hip-Hop DanceAcademy by Mr. Manju & Team. Students were awarded certificates & a trophy for participation by the Dasara Committee.

Details: The Valedictory function 2017 was held 14th September 2017 at 11 A.M Dr.Yashwanth Dongre, Director of planning monitoring and evaluation board, University of Mysore and former in-charge vice chancellor of University of Mysore was invited as chief guest. The college also felicitated eminent teacher from Mysore Sri.Satyaprasad, Smt.Anitha Thomas, Sri.V.Gireesh , Sri.Vijayasimha, Sri Balkrishna, Sri.Kendaraj, Sri. Vijayasimha, Sri. Lingaraju and Smt.Pamdaja who have rendered valuable service to the field of education. The Illumination 2017 winners of various events conducted for students and teachers were awarded attractive cash prize.

Details: Inter Collegiate Chamundi Zone Men Throw ball and Table tennis Tournament associated with University of Mysore was held on 13th September 2017 at Hindustan College sports ground. The event was inaugurated by Dr. P Krishnaiah Director of Physical Education, In-charge, University of Mysore. Around 18 Throw Ball Teams & 10 Table Tennis Teams from various colleges participated. The trophy & medals were distributed for the winners by the College Principal Dr.K.Sailatha & vice Principal Chethan.H.

Details: An Inter-collegiate competition was organized for the second successive year on 9th September 2017.The event was inaugurated by Sri. C.K Mahendra, President of Mysore district association of journalist and bureau chief of Vijayavani daily paper . Various competitions were held as a part of the teacher’s day celebration. Students from various colleges participated in essay writing, elocution and pencil sketch competitions. Treasures hunt, rangoli and solo sing karaoke singing competitions were conducted for teachers of different schools and colleges.

Details: On 5th September 2017 to remark the birth anniversary of the great teacher Dr.Sarvapalli Radhakrishnan, The students of HFGC celebrated teachers day.They conducted various games for both teaching and non-teaching staff followed by cake cutting.

Details: In the view of providing an opportunity for the students to exhibit their hidden talents. Hindustan First Grade College was conducted Talent’s Day for freshers on 18th August 2017 at Sir M Vishveshwaraiah Hall. The participants took part in group dance, solo singing, playing instruments, traditional and classical dances etc.,. Mimes were enacted to bring out with different theme.

Details: Independence Day was celebrated on 15th August 2017 at college premises in a colorful way. Our principal Dr. K Sailatha and Capt. G. S. Brar hoisted National Flag sharp 8.30 am followed with the cultural program. Patriotic songs were recited both by the teacher and students. Students also presented the group dance and a skit.

Details: International Youth Day is celebrated on 14.08.2017 as the mark of international youth day our students have prepared a pencil sketch on the topic “youth facing problems in the current environment”.

Details: Pool campus drive was held in the campus on 08th August, 2017 by IDBI Federal Life Insurance. Totally 92 students from various colleges of mysore city including our own in house students participated in the drive. In the final interview round they have selected 17 students out of participant’s students.

Details: Fresher’s day was organized by the 2nd and 3rd year B.Com students on 31st July 2017. They invited the fresher’s and conducted various games by the senior students for freshers and based on events teachers selected “Mr. and Ms. Fresher”. Ms. Namratha of I B.Com won the title of Ms. Fresher’s and Mr. Mohammed Shakeel of I B.Com won the title of Mr. Fresher. Students took an active participation and made event successful one.

Details: A one day seminar on Goods & Service Tax was held at the Hindustan First Grade College campus on 28th of July 2017. Students of HFGC & various other colleges of Mysuru were invited to participate in the session CA Vageesh Hedge, was the speaker who threw light on various issues regarding G.S.T. students from Mahajana First Grade College, Vidya Vikas First Grade College, Vidyavardhaka First Grade College, St. Joseph’s College, Sheshadripuram College, Sri Kauvery College, Sri Lakshmi Hayaghreeva College, MMK SDM college, NIE, Gopalswamy College participated actively & received certificates from the speaker

Details: This academic year 2017-2018 began with an ice breaking session by Mr. Mustaq & Mr. Zubair of ‘Talk To Us’ foundation, where by the fresher’s of I B.Com, I BBA & I BCA actively participated in various activities conducted at the session, which enhanced group dynamics and performance among the fresher’s.

‘Spectra – 2K17′ – A Carnival of Talents’ is a two days ‘Cultural & Management Fest’ hosted at HFGC campus on 30th & 31st March 2017. Mr. Amshi Prasanna Kumar, Assistant Editor, Kannada Prabha News Paper, Mrs. Sahithya Y, Senior News Anchor News1 Kannada Channel were the guest for the inauguration. Mr. Phanisha K N, Director & V.P. Finance, Essential Oil Pvt. Ltd., Group of N Rangarao K & Sons, Dr. Srikanta Swamy, CDC Director, University of Mysore, R J Sunil, Color Kage Fame & our Managing Trustee Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese were the guest of honour for the Valediction. Various events like Best Manager, Finance, Marketing, Quiz, Treasure Hunt, Dance, Karoke Singing were conducted. Over 250 students from different colleges in & around Mysore participated in the fest which was a grand success.

The Mysuru local News Channel, News 1 Kannada, hosted a one hour show called ‘Campus Kalarava’ at HFGC campus on 17.03.2017, where in the students were provided a platform to showcase their talents which was further broadcasted on the television. The student’s activity performed various events like dance, singing, mimicry & musical instruments like violine & keyboard.

International Women’s Day is celebrated on 08.03.2017 as it commemorates the movement for women’s rights; it was also celebrated at HFGC where in all the gents staff arranged exciting games to the ladies staff to celebrate the day. The winner’s were awarded with exciting prizes along with which all the ladies were appreciated for their work & contribution of the development of the institution.

On January 26th the Staff and Students of HFGC & OFPL Celebrate “Republic Day’ paying respect for the day our constitution came into force. The ceremony began lay hoisting of the ‘National Flag’ at HFGC campus by caption Srikrishna OFPL and various performance by the students which included speech, drama, dance etc. Thus national festivals are celebrated with a great zeal & enthusiasm at HFGC.

On 31.01.2017, tree plantation activity was organized by “Swatch Bharath Committee” of the college, at the college ground, where by 10 samplings were planted by the students as a mark of ‘Save tree, save life! Plant tree, plant life’ and to bring into light the mission of clean of green – India.

A special lecture on presentation skills was organized by Dept. of English on 08th Feb 2017 (at 9.45am) Mrs. Suchithra V, Soft Skill Trainer & Asst. Prof. of English, Vidya Vikas First Grade College who is an expert in training for corporate employees, students & vocational training for women was the resource person. The students were guided about the important etiquettes like the content, voice modulation, the approach, dressing sense, proper usage of fonts, colors in PPT’s etc.
