SWACCH BHARATH ABHIYAN

Clean India Mission or Swacch Bharat Abhiyan is a country wide campaign initiative taken by the Government of India in the year 2014 in order to eliminate the open defecation of garbage and various other pollutants hampering the environment.

In this context, on the occasion of Gandhi Jayanthi, NSS unit of Hindustan First Grade College in association with Y’s men club of Mysuru Chamundi & Youth and Nehru Yuva Kendra Sangatham, Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports organized Cleanliness Drive under Swacch Bharat Abhiyan Programme on 01/10/2021. The main purpose of this programme was to create awareness among youth regarding Cleanliness and its benefits. Prof. B. Shivappa, Registrar, University of Mysore, Dr. Priya, Principal &  Sri.  Srihari,  Founder, GSS Foundation, Mysuru jointly inaugurated the program. The youth were educated on the ecosystem contamination and degradation which have resulted in the loss of benefits to human society.   Also, they were advised on Cleanliness drive commenced near  Clock  tower,  Town  hall,  Mysuru.  The garbage and other waste material littered around were collected and disposed off in an eco-friendly way  All  the  students  of  HFGC  and  the  members  of  Y’s men club of Mysuru Chamundi &  Youth  actively  participated  in  the  program with a high sense of enthusiasm and devotion and thanked the organizers for enlightening them on cleanliness. Ms. Sukshma, NSS Coordinator, Mr. Mohan Kumar, Physical Education Director along with staff and students coordinated the event successfully.
