The Internal Quality Assurance Cell (IQAC) of Hindustan College is set up to create and maintain a culture of quality within the institution. Its main job is to plan, guide, and keep track of activities aimed at assuring and enhancing quality. The IQAC’s key goal is to establish a system for continuous and purposeful improvement in overall institutional performance.
The IQAC focuses on organizing and streamlining the institution’s efforts towards achieving excellence in academics. It acts as a catalyst for driving quality improvement by developing strategies to address weaknesses and improve overall quality standards.
Objectives
- To elevate the standards of students and faculty by fostering a supportive environment that encourages continuous motivation and optimal learning experiences.
- To ensure provision and enhancement of facilities for adopting innovative teaching methods, conducting research projects and industry collaborations.
5 DAY FDP ON “ADVANCED RESOURCE SKILLS AND METHODOLOGIES FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE”
The IQAC of Hindustan College organized a five-day Faculty Development Program (FDP) on “Advanced Resource Skills and Methodologies for Academic Excellence” from 13th to 18th January 2025. The program aimed to equip faculty members with essential research skills, enhance their academic writing capabilities, and familiarize them with contemporary methodologies in scholarly publishing.
The program commenced with an inaugural session led by Dr. Venkat Prasad, Associate Professor of Economics and Chairperson of SDM College, Mysuru. His insightful address focused on identifying research problems, structuring research frameworks, and selecting appropriate methods for data collection and analysis. The afternoon session shifted attention to “Ethics and Integrity in Academic Research”, where Dr. Lohit, IQAC Coordinator at the University of Mysore, highlighted the significance of maintaining ethical standards and integrity in scholarly work.
The second day explored on “Interdisciplinary Research Writing and Publishing Challenges”. Dr. A. M. Sudhakara, Director of Cyber Labs, shared his expertise on overcoming obstacles in interdisciplinary research and scholarly publishing. Later in the day, Dr. Shanmugasundaram, Professor, Department of Biotechnology, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, elaborated on “Advanced Research Writing Strategies”, offering valuable insights into effective publication techniques.
This day focused on enhancing communication and leadership skills through outdoor activities. Students faced challenges that encouraged them to demonstrate their leadership qualities.
Students were divided into groups, each assigned a topic to present. They engaged in group discussions and participated in a debate session, honing their skills in articulating ideas and arguments.
The focus shifted to decision-making and problem-solving techniques. Students tackled various challenges designed to improve their decision-making abilities.
The session began with discussions on resume preparation and setting objectives for career goals. Students were guided to create their own resumes, enhancing their understanding of personal branding.
Four representatives from the Magic Bus Foundation conducted mock interviews for the students. Each student had a 10-minute slot to simulate a real interview environment, applying the skills learned throughout the program.
Vinanthi S welcomed attendees, and students shared their feedback on the training. Principal Dr. C.J. Priya distributed participation certificates to all students and presented tokens of gratitude to the Magic Bus Foundation team. The program concluded with a vote of thanks and a photo session.
The training was well-received, with students expressing enjoyment and appreciation for the skills gained.
POOL CAMPUS PLACEMENT DRIVE 2024
The Pool Campus Placement drive held at Hindustan College on May 17th, 2024, was a significant event aimed at providing final year students with opportunities to secure employment. It provided a platform for students to showcase their talents and secure promising career opportunities. A total of 10 companies participated in the placement drive, offering roles primarily in Management and Information Technology. The following companies participated in the recruitment process.

Over 250 students from Hindustan College and nearby institutions attended the event. Among them, 125 candidates were shortlisted for further recruitment processes. Specifically, 45 students from Hindustan College advanced to the subsequent stages of the recruitment. The students expressed their overall satisfaction with the organization of the placement drive. The event was successful in providing employment opportunities for students and in strengthening Hindustan College’s relationships with leading companies.
The final year BBA Aviation Management students participated in the Indigo Placement Drive May 22nd & 23rd 2024 at Hindustan Institute of Technology & Science, Chennai. Mr. Syed Nawas successfully cleared all the rounds and has been placed as Operation Control Crew at Indigo.
A one day workshop on “Campus to Corporate” – Interview Skill Training Session was held on 6/12/2023. The resource person Mr. S. Sandana Krishnan, Head of Operations at Trending Skills Mysore, covered essential aspects such as communication skills, confidence, resume preparation and personality development. Mr. Sandana Krishnan facilitated engaging activities to highlight the strengths and weaknesses of candidates. The afternoon session, featured various activities, including puzzle solving, decision making, problem-solving techniques, and a salary discussion.
Indigo Team visited Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Padur Campus, Chennai, on 20th and 21st July, 2023 for a Campus Recruitment for 2023 Graduates, organised by Centre for Professional and Career Development, Department of Placement and Training, Hindustan Institute of Technology and Science, Padur Campus, Chennai. For this, 5 students among the Final Semester BBA Aviation Management of Hindustan College, Mysuru attended the campus interview. Mr. Mohammed Aiyunulla Shariff successfully cleared all the rounds and has been offered job at Indigo, Operation Control Crew (4.72 LPA). Asst. Professor Eshwar V coordinated with the students during the Placement Drive.
On 09/11/2023, Ms. Vibhavasu, Advisor, Vidvath Academy, Mysuru conducted an informative orientation program, providing a comprehensive overview of civil service and competitive exams, including details on UPSC, KPSC, and civil service examination. She provided valuable guidance on exam preparation and application process. Addressing students’ questions, she effectively clarified doubts regarding exam preparation and procedures.
On 7th November 2023, the Training and Placement Cell of Hindustan College organized a Career Guidance Program for the final year students of BCA department. Mr. Raghuanandan, the program advisor from NIIT Limited, Mysuru, shared the valuable insights on career paths, job profiles, software engineering trends and advancements, Interview preparation and skills enhancement. The session saw active student participation, with students posing queris and seeking clarification on various aspects of career development.
On 29/05/2023 at Hindustan College students witnessed the UPSC Awareness program held by Navodaya Foundation And Navo Pramati. Dr. Ravi, Manager, Navodaya Foundation and Navo Pramati addressed the students in an inspired way to make them to enroll for the upcoming examinations which will be conducted by UPSC.
A special lecture program was organized on 02/05/2023 by the Training and Placement Cell, HC. Rajesh Harikrishna, Assistant professor, Department of Information system and Analytics, Firebird Institute of Research in Management, Bannari groups, Coimbatore, delivered a special lecture on “Simulation for Entrepreneurial development Through business gamer of AIMA Biz Lab” for 5th semester and 6th semester B.com student, which helped the student to Gain Skills Required to Launch a Successful Startup via Game-Based Learning, Learn to Think Like a Successful Entrepreneur, Gain Hands-On Experience.
The Training and Placement Cell, HC organized a Special Lecture on UPSC KPSC Exams for the students of B.Com and BCA on 04th February 2023. Ms Shobha G C, Academic coordinator and Mr. Sumith Kumar Teaching faculty from Summit IAS, KAS Academy, Mysuru, explained the importance of competitive exams, patterns and Module briefing.

The Training and Placement Cell had organized a Special Lecture on “Opportunities & Challenges of Digital Age”. Mr. Bharath, Head of RIDM (Regional Institute of Digital Marketing) furnished the students with insightful information on Digital Marketing & Business Analytics certifications. The speaker addressed the students regarding the gap between the industry demands and the imperative skill sets the students are lacking. The speaker also gave awareness regarding the course details, job requirements, list of companies which are recruiting & the salary packages offered. The interactive session winded up it with Questions & Answers followed by a thanking note.
With the objective of enlightening the students on internship a special lecture – cum – interaction session was organized on 16.12.2022. Capt. Paul Dudi Thomas, Chief Ground Instructor and Assistant Flight Instructor, Orient Flights Aviation Academy, Mysuru was invited as the resource person.

The Training and Placement cell had organized a special lecture on “Soft Skill Development” on 14/11/2022. Dr. Annepu Sreedhar, General Manager, ICFAI addressed the various key issues on why fresher’s are fired from the company due to lack of adequate skills.
The Training and Placement Cell, HC organized a placement training program on 20th December 2022. The Placement Cell invited resource persons from Equalize RCM company, a sister company from Sys Information Technology. Mr. Ashok Balaram Managing Director, Thejaswi HR, Dheeraj Yadav trainer explained Soft Skills training patterns and Module briefing in short, also Q&A done.
A Pool Campus Drive was successfully organized by the Placement and Training Cell of Hindustan College, Mysuru on 10thAugust 2022 from 8.30 a.m. to 6.00 p.m. The aspirants who took part in this drive were the students who graduated during the academic year 2018, 2019, 2020, and 2021. The following 12 eminent companies had taken part in the Placement Drive for recruiting suitable candidates for their respective posts.

The placement drive concluded successfully, thereby short listing 425 candidates out of 928candidatesforthe nextround of interviews on the respective company’s premises.
The Training and Placement Cell of Hindustan College organized Pre Placement Training for the final year students from 1/08/2022 to 06/08/2022. For this training program, Mr. Anumodh Menon was the Soft Skill Trainer from IELTS. Mr. Anumodh Menon trained the students on various aptitude and logical reasoning topics.
