National Level Webinar on “Careers in fashion design, retail and manufacturing”
Department of Fashion Designing organized a National Level Webinar on “Careers in fashion design, retail and manufacturing” on 11 July 2020. Dr. V Bhanu Rekha, Associate Professor & HoD, Department of Fashion Technology, KCG College of Technology, Chennai & Program Advisor, Hindustan First Grade College, Mysore was invited as the Resource Person. The objective of the webinar is to make budding professionals aware of the recent trends in industry, job opportunities and other prospective avenues which will enhance their professional skills.
The poster along with the Google forms (related to registration) was posted on WhatsApp, Facebook and Instagram. The registration link was open from 9th July 2020 to 10th July 2020. 492 members from Karnataka, Andhra Pradesh, Tamil Nadu, Rajasthan, Maharashtra, Odisha, Madhya Pradesh, Kerala, Assam, West Bengal, Uttar Pradesh had registered to participate in the webinar. The registered participants were communicated through Whatsapp group. The link for the sessions, rules to be followed during sessions, timings and other communications was held in the designated WhatsApp group and also to the registered email id. The workshop was conducted on Google Meet platform from 11.00AM to 12.30PM. The webinar witnessed 184 participants from various parts of India.
The session was initiated by the welcome address and introduction of the resource person by Ms. Sukshma RD, Assistant Professor. Dr. C J Priya, Principal addressed the participants. Ms. Savitha K V, Asst. Professor, Dept. of Computer Science, Ms. Sukshma RD, Asst. Professor, Department of Computer Science and Shreyas N, III BCA rendered the technical assistance. Dr. Bhanu Rekha highlighted the importance of Fashion Industry, Market Segmentations, Business Models, Fashion Design Process, Various places of work in the fashion industry and the various categories of clothing. The webinar covered the important aspects of the apparel industry and all the participant’s queries were addressed. The participants gained knowledge and insight in production, design, manufacturing, sustainability, supply chains and innovation. The participants received the participation e-certificate through their registered e mail by submitting the feedback forms. Ms. Sukshma RD concluded the session by a thanking note.
