
FRESHER’S ORIENTATION PROGRAMME (Commerce & Management)
A four-day Freshers’ Orientation Programme was conducted from 22 June 2026 to 25 June 2026 for the first-year students of Commerce & Management. The programme was designed to familiarize students with the institution, provide an overview of the programme outcomes, and equip them with the knowledge and skills required for academic and professional success.
01 FROM CAMPUS TO CAREER
The programme commenced on 22 June 2026 with a career orientation session titled “From Campus to Career: Orientation to Commerce and Management Education.”Dr. Nagaraj, Chairman, Department of Commerce, University of Mysore, served as the resource person. He emphasized the importance of acquiring professional competencies, explored the career prospects available after graduation, and highlighted the broad scope of commerce and management education. Students gained valuable insights into emerging career opportunities and higher education options in the field.
02 SOFT SKILLS FOR ACADEMIC EXCELLENCE AND CAREER SUCCESS
On 23 June 2026, Mr. Aftab, Soft Skills Trainer, Vivekananda Leadership Academy, conducted an engaging session on “Soft Skills for Academic Excellence and Career Success.” The programme focused on communication skills, confidence building, interpersonal relationships, professional etiquette, and time management. Through interactive activities and discussions, students understood the importance of soft skills in enhancing employability and achieving academic excellence.
03 BRIDGING CAMPUS TO CORPORATE: BUILDING SKILLS FOR FUTURE MANAGERS
On 24 June 2026, Mr. S. Ranganathan, Chief Financial Officer, Automotive Axles Limited, Mysuru, delivered a session titled “Bridging Campus to Corporate: Building Skills for Future Managers.” He shared practical insights into workplace culture, corporate expectations, and managerial competencies. Students were encouraged to develop analytical thinking, leadership, and decision-making skills to prepare themselves for successful professional careers.
04 TEAM BUILDING AND LEADERSHIP
The orientation programme concluded on 25 June 2026 with an interactive session on “Team Building and Leadership” conducted by Mr. Vinay Shankar, Entrepreneur. The session emphasized the importance of leadership, collaboration, teamwork, and problem-solving skills in personal and professional growth. Through engaging activities and real-life examples, students learned the qualities of effective leaders and the value of teamwork in achieving organizational success.
