WORKSHOP ON AVIATION EXCELLENCE: LEARNING, LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH

The Department of BBA Aviation Management organized a five-day Workshop on Aviation Excellence: Learning, Leadership and Professional Growth from 30 June 2026 to 4 July 2026. The workshop was designed to provide students with practical exposure to the aviation industry while enhancing their technical knowledge, professional skills, and career readiness through expert sessions and experiential learning.

Day 1 – Managing Airport Operations (30.06.2026)

The workshop commenced with an insightful session on Managing Airport Operations delivered by Mrs. Usha Kumari, Director, Mysore Airport. Drawing from her extensive industry experience, she shared practical insights into airport management, operational challenges, and career opportunities in the aviation sector. Her real-life experiences inspired students and provided them with a comprehensive understanding of airport operations.

Day 2 – Industrial Visit to Mysore Airport (01.07.2026)

On the second day, students participated in an industrial visit to Mysore Airport under the guidance of faculty members Ms. Sneha Pillai and Capt. Chintan. The visit offered valuable firsthand exposure to airport operations, enabling students to observe various functional departments and gain practical knowledge of airport management and operational procedures in a real-world environment.

Day 3 – Professional Grooming, Cabin Crew Management, and Airline Operations (02.07.2026)

The third day featured a session by Ms. Sneha Pillai on Professional Grooming Standards and Cabin Crew Management, highlighting the importance of personal grooming, effective communication, teamwork, safety protocols, and customer service in the aviation industry.

The second session was conducted by Capt. Anjith, Orient Flights Aviation Academy, who provided an overview of Airline Operations and Airport Functions. The session covered key aspects such as airline operations, passenger handling, ground services, airport departments, and flight coordination, giving students a broader understanding of airline management.

Day 4 – Soft Skills and Dangerous Goods Training (03.07.2026)

The fourth day included an engaging session by Ms. Sowmya H.L, Placement Trainer, HC on Soft Skills Development, focusing on communication, teamwork, leadership, interpersonal skills, and professional etiquette essential for success in the aviation industry.

This was followed by a session on Dangerous Goods Training conducted by Capt. Chintan, who introduced students to the regulations, classification, safe handling, and transportation of hazardous materials in aviation, emphasizing the importance of safety and regulatory compliance.

Day 5 – Wings of Knowledge Aviation Quiz and Closing Ceremony (04.07.2026)

The workshop concluded with the “Wings of Knowledge” Aviation Quiz, which encouraged students to apply the concepts learned throughout the programme through teamwork and healthy competition.

The programme concluded with a Closing Ceremony, during which participants reflected on their learning experiences and the knowledge gained over the five-day workshop. The event successfully enhanced students’ understanding of aviation operations, strengthened their professional competencies, and motivated them to pursue rewarding careers in the aviation industry.
