01 LEARNING, LEADERSHIP AND PROFESSIONAL GROWTH INAUGURAL
SESSION AND FLIGHT SIMULATION WORKSHOP On 30 June 2026, the Department of BBA Aviation Management inaugurated its week-long Orientation Programme, “Aviation Excellence: Learning, Leadership and Professional Growth,” for the newly admitted students. Mrs. Usha Kumari, Airport Director, Mysore Airport, graced the occasion as the Chief Guest. In her inaugural address, Mrs. Usha Kumari inspired the students by sharing her experiences in the aviation industry and emphasized the importance of professionalism, and lifelong learning in building a successful aviation career. Mr. Abel Mathew Prasad, Special Officer also addressed the gathering, highlighting the institution’s commitment to providing quality education, practical exposure, and industry-oriented training.
02 Fundamentals of Flight Simulation
The afternoon session featured an engaging workshop on the Fundamentals of Flight Simulation, conducted by Capt. Chinthan. Students were introduced to the role of flight simulators in pilot training, cockpit familiarization, flight procedures, and emergency handling. The interactive session provided valuable insights into simulation technology and its contribution to aviation safety and operational efficiency, marking an inspiring beginning to the students’ academic journey in aviation.
03 EDUCATIONAL VISIT TO MYSORE AIRPORT AND CAREER GUIDANCE SESSION
On 1 July 2026, as part of the “Aviation Excellence: Learning, Leadership and Professional Growth” Orientation Programme, the Department of BBA Aviation Management organized an educational visit to Mysore Airport for the first-year students. Students were warmly welcomed by the airport officials, who briefed them on airport safety regulations, operational procedures, security protocols, and the coordinated functioning of various airport departments.
04 Career Guidance Session
Following the airport visit, the Airports Authority of India (AAI) conducted an interactive Career Guidance Session. The officials highlighted the diverse career opportunities available in the aviation sector and explained the educational qualifications, recruitment procedures, and professional competencies required for aspiring aviation professionals. The session concluded with an engaging question-and-answer interaction, where students clarified their queries regarding career prospects, higher education opportunities, and the future scope of the aviation industry.
05 PROFESSIONAL GROOMING AND AIRLINE OPERATIONS
On 2 July 2026, the morning session of the Orientation Programme was conducted by Ms. Sneha Pillai, Aviation Instructor, HC on “Professional Grooming in the Airline Industry and Cabin Crew Management.” The session emphasized the importance of professional grooming and etiquette in building a successful career in aviation. Students were also introduced to the roles and responsibilities of cabin crew members, including passenger safety, in-flight service, emergency preparedness, and customer care, along with the key qualities required to excel in the profession.
06 Overview of Airline Operations and Airport Functions.
The afternoon session on 2 July 2026 was conducted by Capt. Anjith, OFAA on “Overview of Airline Operations and Airport Functions.” The session provided students with a comprehensive understanding of airport and airline operations, including passenger services, baggage handling, ground handling, terminal management, security, and airside operations.
07 LEADERSHIP SKILLS AND AVIATION SECURITY
On 3 July 2026, the morning session was conducted by Ms. Sowmya H L, Placement Trainer, HC on “Soft Skills for Success: Leadership, Teamwork, and Decision-Making.” Through interactive activities and team-building exercises, students developed essential soft skills such as communication, leadership, collaboration, critical thinking, and decision-making.
08 Aviation Security: Challenges and Protocols
The afternoon session on 3 July 2026 was led by Capt. Chinthan, Aviation Trainer, HC on “Aviation Security: Challenges and Protocols.” He provided students with valuable insights into airport security systems, passenger and baggage screening, surveillance, access control, and aircraft security procedures. The session also highlighted emerging security challenges, including cyber threats and terrorism, and emphasized the importance of vigilance, regulatory compliance, and coordinated efforts in maintaining a safe and secure aviation environment.
09 WINGS OF KNOWLEDGE
On 4 July 2026, the Orientation Programme concluded with “Wings of Knowledge,” an interactive aviation quiz conducted for the BBA Aviation Management students. The quiz featured multiple rounds covering aviation-related topics such as airport operations, airlines, aircraft, aviation terminology, civil aviation history, current affairs, and general knowledge.
