INAUGURATION OF Dr. K C G VERGHESE MEMORIAL ACADEMIC BLOCK
The Inauguration of the Dr. K. C. G. Verghese Memorial Academic Block, an adjacent building in the premises of the college, was organized on 7th March 2026. The program commenced with a vibrant traditional welcome through ‘Dollu Kunitha’, setting a festive and cultural tone for the occasion, which was followed by the unveiling of the “Wings of Wisdom”, a mural by Prof. Lokanath, Vice Chancellor, University of Mysore, symbolizing knowledge, growth, and academic excellence. The highlight of the event was the formal inauguration of the Dr. K. C. G. Verghese Memorial Academic Block by the Chairman, along with the Chief Guests. The commemorative plaque was unveiled by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, HGI, adding a moment of reverence and significance to the occasion. The formal function held at the Seminar Hall began with a video presentation showcasing the achievements and vision of the Hindustan Group of Institutions. Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of HGI, delivered the Presidential Address, highlighting the institution’s commitment to excellence in education and infrastructure development. A felicitation ceremony was held in honour of key contributors, with Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese and Dr. Ashok George Verghese, Vice President, HGI, addressing the gathering and acknowledging the efforts behind the successful completion of the memorial block. The Guest of Honour, Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa addressed the audience with inspiring words. Dr. Priya C. J, Principal of Hindustan College, introduced the Chief Guest, Prof. Lokanath, who delivered an insightful address emphasizing the importance of quality education and institutional growth. An MoU exchange ceremony was conducted between Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman of HGI, and Mr. Anil Basotra, Director of KTC Holdings India Pvt. Ltd., marking a step towards future collaboration. The dignitaries also released the decennial Souvenir, commemorating a decade of achievements. The event was also graced by Mr. Enid Verghese, Deputy Director, HGI, Dr. Annie Jacob, Trustee, HECT, Mr. Samarjeet Gupta, Ms. Anita Gupta, Mr. David Ryan, Management Executive, HGI, Mr. Aby Sam, Executive Director, HITS, Mr. Manoharan, Director–Projects, HITS, Mr. Rajaram, IAS Advisor; Mr. Rangaswamy, Auditor, and Mr. Vivek Reddy, Resident Executive. The program included the presentation of mementos to the contractors in recognition of their contributions to the construction of the memorial block. The event concluded with a closing benediction by Rt. Rev. Gregorios Mar Stephanos Episcopa. Ms. Savitha K. V., Assistant Professor, delivered the Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to all dignitaries, organizers, and participants for making the event a grand success.
