ONAM CELEBRATION 2023

On August 29, 2023, the vibrant and culturally rich festival of Onam was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The college campus was adorned with exquisite pookalam decorations, setting the stage for a day filled with traditional festivities and joyous moments. The festivities commenced at 11:00 AM with a warm welcome speech delivered by Vinanthi.S, Asst. professor, setting the tone for the day’s events. The symbolic lighting of the lamp was gracefully performed by esteemed dignitaries, including the Principal Dr. C.J. Priya, and Special Officer Mr. Abel Mathew, along with the presence of Captain Vipin Das.

The program was inaugurated with the traditional Hombale rituals, infusing the air with a sense of spirituality and cultural significance. Following this, Sukshma R D, Asst professor provided an insightful introduction to the significance of Onam. The stage came alive with a captivating dance performance by students Aishwarya and Rakshitha, showcasing their talents and adding a touch of artistic brilliance to the event. Sahana K.N Asst professor, then delivered a heartfelt vote of thanks, expressing gratitude to everyone involved in making the celebration a grand success. The cultural events were followed by engaging traditional sports activities, including Nidhi Vetta, Uri Adi, and Vadam Vali. The participation of students, staff, and even pilot trainees from Orient Flights added an extra layer of excitement to the activities. The true essence of Kerala’s culinary traditions was experienced during the special lunch called “Sadya,” a feast comprising a variety of traditional dishes. Snacks were distributed to students, ensuring that everyone could enjoy the festivities to the fullest.
