Seminar On "Biometric Applications" And IT Magazine Release "Tech Zone"

The department of Computer Science had organized a seminar on “Biometric Applications” followed by IT magazine release “Tech Zone” on 19.07.19. Ms. Poornima G welcomed the gathering. Ms. Sukshma, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science gave a brief introduction about the programme and Ms. Savitha, Assistant Professor, Department of Computer Science introduced the Chief Guest to the gathering. The IT magazine “TechZone” was released by the chief guest Dr.  Manjunath K S,  HoD & Associate Professor, Department of Computer Science, Maharanis College for Women, Mysuru. The issue comprises the activities and achievement of the department in the Academic & Co-curricular activities and it has provided a platform for the students of BCA department to explore in IT field. The guest highlighted the biometric application, its functions, uses and its role in operations. He stated that the biometric technologies such as finger print are utilized in a range of applications that vary in terms of performance requirements, Operational environment and privacy impact. Biometric allows a person to be identified and authenticated based on a set of reorganizations and verifiable data which are unique and specific to them. The programme concluded with a vote of thanks by Ms. Hemashree, I BCA.
