SPECTRA – 2026 DR. KCG VERGHESE MEMORIAL INTER-COLLEGIATE TROPHY

INAUGURATION:

Spectra 2026, the national-level inter-collegiate management, IT, aviation, and cultural fest was successfully held on 6th and 7th of March 2026, on the college campus. The event witnessed enthusiastic participation from students representing various colleges across the state and even from neighbouring states. The inaugural ceremony began with the state anthem rendered by the student team. The gathering was welcomed by the Principal, Dr. C. J. Priya, and warmly greeted the dignitaries, participants, and guests. This was followed by the traditional Lighting of the Lamp, symbolizing the formal commencement of the event. A brief report on Spectra 2025 was presented, highlighting the achievements and objectives of the previous edition of the fest. The Presidential Address was delivered by Dr. Anand Jacob Verghese, Chairman, Hindustan Group of Institutions. He emphasized the importance of holistic education, innovation, and leadership among students in his speech. He highlighted that platforms like Spectra provide students with valuable opportunities to showcase their talents beyond academics while developing confidence, teamwork, and problem-solving skills. He also encouraged participants to make the best use of national-level platforms to exchange ideas, build professional networks, and nurture their creativity and entrepreneurial spirit. The Chief Guest, Mr. Vinayak P. Hegde, Vice President and Development Centre Head at Infosys, Mysuru, delivered an inspiring address on professional growth, innovation, and the importance of developing industry-ready skills among students. The Guest of Honour, Professor Mahesh, Chairman, B. N. Bahadur Institute of Management Sciences, spoke about the characteristics and potential of Generation Z, emphasizing the need for students to develop digital skills, emotional intelligence, and adaptability to succeed in the rapidly evolving professional world. This was followed by the prize distribution ceremony, where the dignitaries presented awards to students for their outstanding performances and achievements. The inaugural ceremony concluded with a Vote of Thanks, expressing gratitude to the dignitaries, organizers, and participants for their support and contribution.

EVENTS:

The inauguration of Spectra 2026 officially marked the beginning of two days of vibrant competition, learning, and celebration. Spectra 2026 featured 14 exciting core and non-core events demanding participants’ creativity, knowledge, and talents. The core events included: Innothon, Aero Quest, Best Manager, Marketing Event, Finance Event, Human Resource Event, and Treasure Hunt. Then on-core and cultural events included: Solo Song, Solo Dance, Cine vista, Spectra Rewind, Muscle Mania, Group Dance, and Fashion Show. Overall, around 494 participants from 60 colleges took part in the fest, making the event truly national in scale.

VALEDICTORY:

The valedictory ceremony of Spectra 2026 began with a welcome address by Dr. Shiva Kumar, Asst. Professor of Kannada, a brief report highlighting the major events and collective efforts that made the fest a grand success was presented. The ceremony was presided over by Mr. Enid Verghese Jacob, Deputy Director, Hindustan Group of Institutions. In his presidential address, he congratulated all the participants for their enthusiastic involvement and appreciated the efforts of the organizers in successfully conducting the national-level fest. He emphasized that events like Spectra provide a valuable platform for students to showcase their creativity, leadership, and teamwork. He also encouraged students to actively participate in such events, as they help build confidence, improve communication skills, and prepare them for future professional challenges .Mr. David Ryon, Management Executive, Hindustan College of Arts and Science, was also present on the occasion and appreciated the vibrant participation of students from different colleges, which made the event a grand success. The Chief Guest for the valedictory ceremony was actor Mr. Ashwin, who shared his experiences from the film industry and encouraged students to pursue their dreams with dedication and perseverance. During the Prize Distribution Ceremony, winners of various competitions were honoured with trophies and certificates. Sapient College, Mysuru, emerged as the overall champions, while Cauvery College, Gonikoppal, secured the overall runner-up trophy. The program concluded with a Vote of Thanks expressing sincere gratitude to the dignitaries, faculty members, staff, and students for their collective efforts in making Spectra 2026 a grand success.
